Editorial independence

Advertising cannot buy a score, a rank, or a review removal. The Index Score is computed from the same five components for every firm, paid or not, and promoted units are always labelled. Read the methodology and conflict-of-interest policy.

How claiming a listing works

  1. 1. Open your listing. Find your firm in the city directory and use the "Claim this listing" button next to your Index Score.
  2. 2. Tell us what is missing. The claim form shows exactly which fields on your listing are empty — attorney details, languages spoken, firm description, consultation policy — and lets you supply them in your own words.
  3. 3. We verify your bar number. Every bar number is checked against the state bar's public record before the Bar Verified badge appears. This usually takes 1-2 business days.
  4. 4. A person reviews it. Nothing publishes automatically. We compare your answers against the current listing and email the work address you gave us if anything needs clarifying.

Claiming is free and always will be. It adds verified detail to your listing and can raise your profile-completeness score. It cannot change the other four score components, and no placement on this site is for sale.

What we will not do

  • — Sell a rank, an Index Score, or a position in any ranked list.
  • — Remove a published review or an accurate public-record data point on request.
  • — Present promoted units as ranked results; they are always labelled and sit outside the list.
  • — Recommend one listed firm over another, to anyone, for any fee.

Corrections are free whether or not you ever advertise. Listings are compiled from public sources, ranked by published criteria, and are not endorsements.
